Welcome to the Harvey County Food & Farm Council
The Harvey County Food & Farm Council (HCFFC) is a diverse group of stakeholders working collaboratively to:
- Improve access to locally grown, healthy foods
- Develop strategies to ensure community residents are able to obtain safe, culturally acceptable, nutritionally adequate diets through a sustainable food system that maximizes community self-reliance
- Provide a forum to bring together stakeholders from diverse food-related sectors for discussion
- Coordinate community-wide efforts to improve access to local foods
- Examine how food systems operate and develop solutions for improvement
Our representatives include farmers, health professionals, senior citizens, community and faith based organizations, at-risk populations, agricultural organizations, schools, food retail, K-State Research and Extension and the local health department.
